Minimum Qualifications:

​

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with special needs or related experience in a similar field

• Ability to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check

• Valid California Driver’s License or California Identification Card

• Valid Social Security Card

• Negative TB Test

• Current CPR & First Aid Certification

• Ability to enroll as an In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Provider

Position Responsibilities:

​

As a Direct Support Professional, you will receive hands-on training and ongoing support in the Principles and Applications of Supported Living Services. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting clients with daily living skills and personal independence

• Assisting with medication reminders and prescribed medication support

• Providing transportation and community-based support

• Assisting with personal care and hygiene when needed

• Encouraging healthy exercise and wellness routines

• Supporting meal planning and meal preparation alongside clients

• Assisting clients with grocery shopping and errands

• Performing light housekeeping tasks clients cannot safely complete independently

• Building positive, supportive, and respectful relationships with clients

• Monitoring client well-being and reporting unusual incidents or concerns

• Responding appropriately and responsibly in emergency situations

• Assisting clients with goal development and progress tracking

• Maintaining accurate daily notes and documentation regarding client progress and services provided

• Completing ongoing online and in-person trainings as assigned
